Dark. Deep. Green.

This exhibition showcases the works of Eva Maceková, a Slovak artist who has been living and working in Prague for years. Her fantastic, mysterious paintings—like legends drawn from the depths of the Bohemian Forest—reveal a world where humans and plants coexist in an unusual way. The beings that inhabit this realm create, communicate, vegetate, and reproduce, reluctantly allowing the viewer a glimpse into their habitat. The show will also feature an appendix providing insight into the Czech art scene, including works by fellow artists and friends whose creative approach aligns closely with Eva’s.

Eva Maceková - born in 1984 in Martin, Slovakia, is a graduate of the Illustration and Graphic Design Studio at UMPRUM in Prague. Her distinctive style is characterized by powerful draughtsmanship and vibrant use of color. She has exhibited her works at DOX, City Surfer Office, Ville Pellé, Etc. gallery, Trafo Gallery, and Halle Saint Pierre in Paris. In 2018, she was nominated for the Czech Grand Design Awards in the Illustrator of the Year category, and in 2022, she achieved 3rd place in the same category.
Piotr Sikora - born in 1986 in Kraków, he is a contemporary art critic and curator. His work is inspired by sauna culture, fried cheese, mycology, and kitsch. He curates the Náplavka waterfronts in Prague, raises two sons, and has an obsession with cycling.
