Running out of history or "Running out of history".

The exhibition takes a critical look at history, showing it as a collection of contested narratives rather than a record of "hard facts" about past phenomena. The people invited to the exhibition (Melanie Wróblewska, Rafał Żarski, Wiktoria Kucharczak, Adam Nehring, Maryna Sakowska, Jakub Kosecki, Inside Job, Øleg&Kaśka, Julia Woronowicz) reflect on the very definition of history, its role in the formation of the identity of modern man, the ways of constructing historical and futurological narratives, and the visual language of culture used to describe these phenomena.

Historical narratives, both constitutive and constituted by religious, national and ethnic identities, become a burden, sometimes justifying violence: war, genocide, ethnic cleansing or social inequality. The absurdity with which historical arguments are often formulated in common cultural accounts shines through in the selected works. In addition, the exhibition shows the influence of contemporary ideas around historiosophy that challenge the paradigm of linear time or the hitherto prevailing patriarchal and classist historical perspective.
