"Displacements"
Displacements is the third joint exhibition of Kinga Nowak and Anna Panek. The starting point for the exhibited works is geometric construction. Elementary figures and lines are arranged into compositions through dynamic transformations: shifts, rotations, multiplications. Contrary to appearances, the result of this is not always pure abstraction. The exhibition's title also refers to a shift in focus: from art as an all-consuming activity to motherhood, when perspective and sensibility changes significantly. Other inspirations then appear, but the language of art remains the same. Together, the artists build the narrative of this exhibition by capturing the mutual similarities of their works. In their works, the contrasts of geometric discipline and free organic forms intertwine into one intense statement about women's experiences and the need to create an aesthetic enclave in a not always friendly world. Far from being a neutral "white cube," the space of the Widna gallery proved to be in perfect harmony with the works on display, contributing to the synergy that permeates this exhibition. The sister motifs of the artists' works dialogue with each other, but are also reflected in the fanciful architectural details of the interior.
Paintings, sketches, spatial forms and subtle intrusions into the gallery space seamlessly blend the abstract with the concrete and the unique with the everyday.
